Summer Exhibition 2009 Born in 1928 Richard studied at the Slade School of Art between 1945 - 1950 (Robert Ross and Henriques Scholarship). With a French Government Scholarship he studied at Atelier 17 and Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. During the 1950's and 1960's he designed sets and costumes for the Royal Opera House, the Deutche Oper, Berlin, and the Staatstheatre, Stuttgart; but he is perhaps best known as a printmaker. His many etchings and lithographs suites include Ten Wren Churches with John Betjamin in 1970.
