There is a vibrancy in the works of Philip Pank that is almost tangible, in their presence you feel a frisson; something akin to standing in a spectacular electrical storm.

This power and energy, which Nicholas Deakin in the Independent described as Pank's 'flaring colour and bold textures' is most pronounced in his nudes in oils.

One senses that in his studio, Philip Pank totally immersed himself in his passion for painting. These works are imbued with a deep love, not of the human form as such, but of Philip's deep fervor and commitment to his artistic practice and life. And from this he produced the most powerful and compelling paintings; works that, full of colour and energy, are nonetheless deeply humane for they have captured in a sense the very essence of the sitters form and being.
